Our Student Ministry at North River Church is called Overflow and is for students grades 6-12.
The student ministry has programming based around NRC’s ministry process of Worship, Grow, and Serve.
There is a student led worship service on Wednesday Nights from 6-7 p.m. with dinner served at 5:15PM. Dinner is $5 per person or $15 for a family!
Students are given a chance to Grow at special student ministry Growth Groups. These are offered Sunday Morning during the 10:30 a.m. worship service in the Student Ministry building called "The Outback" (its towards the back of campus). Classes are divided by age and gender. Student's are welcome to attend the 9 a.m. service with their families, or they can sit together in the unofficial student section at the worship services, which is the first 5 rows in the middle section.
Students are given many opportunities to serve both in their worship service and across the church. On top of these ministry opportunities students get a chance to serve in mission work locally and regionally through our mission trips. We also provide students many awesome retreats, camps, and special activities throughout the year and especially during the summer.
The Fall Retreat is at Camp Timberlake Ministries in Millport Alabama, September 28-29. The cost is $50 and we would love for your student to join us! The topic is going to be on Sarcasm and it is going to be a great time! If you have not filled out the Medical Release Form this year please do so. Click on the link below and sign up today!
Disciple Now is February 1-3 2019 and the cost is $35. The purpose of D-Now is an all-inclusive event targeting ALL our students as well as having our students invite their friends. The weekend is designed to use small group to help students evaluate their spiritual lives. The D-Now theme this year is The Price of Fitting In. The Focus is Spiritual Replication: Evangelism; Community; Discipleship; Ministry/Care; and Worship. We would love for your student to join us on this amazing weekend! The way it would be set up is that they would go stay at a home with their age/friend group for the nights of Friday and Saturday. During the day they are transported by North River members to and from the home to the church. Food will be provided within the homes and whenever they come to NRC.
Centrifuge is July 8-12 2019 at Carson Newman or Bryan College. The cost is going to be $290 but there will be opportunities throughout the semester for your student to raise money! The Purpose of camp is isolated time with God, His Word, and His people. The Focus of camp is Spiritual Examination; Discipleship; Worship; Ministry/Care. This is the second time we are going to Centrifuge and last year our students loved it!
