  • Baptism is an important step for every believer. If you are a follower of Christ, but have never been baptized, then Baptism is a great next step in your faith. Every baptism is an amazing celebration and we want to invite you to participate!

To sign-up for our next baptism celebration or for more information, contact Nate Young.

We'd also love to give you a free gift from our Founding Pastor Scott. In his book, The First Steps in My Adventure, there is a chapter on Baptism that addresses frequently asked questions people have when they're considering baptism.

  • Taking a first step can be difficult sometimes. If you would like to talk to someone about joining North River Church, baptism, or when our next Discover Reception is, contact Nate Young.

  • On your first Sunday at North River Church, our desire is for you to experience the innovative worship, encouraging messages, friendly people and enjoyable atmosphere that help make up the culture of North River Church. We know your first time at a new church will come with a little anxiety. We hope this quick look at what you can expect will ease your mind as you come to NRC as our guest.

In worship, you’ll find us using all kinds of methods and styles of worship to reveal the glory of God. We want to invite you to come just as you are and hear practical messages that help you deal with real life issues. We’ll even give you a helpful outline of the main points and Bible passages. It’s our expectation that what you learn on the weekend, you’ll be able to use during the week. We want to help you connect with the personal hope and practical help that God has given us. You can experience worship at NRC through the Online Campus section of this website.

We also provide small group opportunities throughout the week to help you connect with others in a similar life stage. Our decentralized small groups are called Growth Groups and you can find a list of our current groups here on our website. Worship and Growth Groups are essential to helping you investigate the things of Christ and connect with others on the same journey.

We know that as a parent you need to be sure that your children are in a safe learning environment, while your children are looking for a fun place to learn. We’ve invested a lot to make sure that both of these goals are reached. Children and students are important to us, and we make their spiritual journeys a priority in the life of our church.

If it’s been a long time since you’ve been to church, North River has you in mind! There’s already enough you have to think about when you’re visiting a church for the first time. We hope that getting some of these questions out of the way not only encourages you to be at ease, but also helps you to connect with the hope and encouragement that God has planned for you. So whether you’re just starting to ask questions about God, or a committed Christian who wants to sink the roots of your faith even deeper, you can find a home here at North River Church.

Come thirsty and experience life at The River.

  • Dr. Scott Reynolds serves as the pastor of North River Church Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Scott’s passion for the church is driven out of Romans 8:29 “For those He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.” The need all of us have to be conformed to the image of Christ is what drove Scott and a handful of core families to birth the North River Church Tuscaloosa, Alabama. What an incredible journey this is! Each and every day God does something new, and He continues to bless His new church in an amazing way. God constantly brings new people to join in the work of loving and making a difference in this city and this world for the Kingdom of Christ.

Back in the fall of 2005 God gave Scott the burden to build a church on the words of Ezekiel 47:12 “Their fruit will be used for food and their leaves for medicine.” North River Church is built to be a place where intimacy with Jesus nourishes our lives, and our ministries can be a place of healing. Scott grew up in a Christian home and many times overlooked the blessing of Christian parents. His own testimony speaks of a life that has experienced the world and found himself empty. However, God got Scott’s attention and drew him back into a right relationship with Him. In 1988 God called Scott into ministry and into a life committed to living out the glory of God. Scott’s prayer for ministry is to live out Malachi 2:6 “True instruction was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found on his lips: he walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many back from iniquity.” Scott is married to Lori and they have two children, Ariel and Dean.

  • North River has several church plants across the globe in South Sudan, India, Brazil, Ukraine, and Mexico. We wish to never see the sun set on the work of our church so we will continue to plant churches around the world. Below are some places and ministries that we support around the world.

    South Sudan

South Sudan is a brand new nation that is open and hungry for the Gospel of Christ. We have an amazing opportunity to be a part of teaching and training the men in Akot to be pastors and go out among their region sharing their faith. Evangelism, discipleship, and construction are projects that are available. We partner with Living Water Community Transformation in our efforts in Akot, South Sudan. LWCT works in many areas including education, agriculture, health, life-skill development along with the pastoral training. For more information on Living Water please visit their website at http://livingwaterct.org/.

In Juba, South Sudan we have the River Baptist Church that is a part of our campus. Our pastor, Elijah, is ministering to the people of Juba and their church has been growing rapidly over the past few years.

    Grain Game

The world is being devastated by a famine of God’s word and–as with any kind of famine–it is the young who are being hit the hardest. Time is short and yet there is so much to be done before Christ returns. Therefore, The Grain Game shares the redemption story with kids, ages 10-15, in every corner of the world. Using stunts, games, toys, and science tricks—our camps capture the imagination of these kids, point their hearts to Christ and help them store up the grain of God’s Word.

To obey God by spreading the Gospel to the unreached regions of Guatemala while supporting the established missionary group IMPACTO.

Following our vision of planting churches globally we will be continuing a work we are involved with in Chennai. We will have opportunity to work among those that are involved with North River Missions in India with evangelism, medical aid, adult ministry and children’s worship. We also support an orphanage in Kallakurichi named Comforting Hands. Currently there are 24 children being cared for and receiving education, clothing, shelter, food and most importantly love. We are looking to raise the funds needed to build a suitable orphanage/church/ministry center for the people of Kallakurichi.

    Compassion International

Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.

    Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan’s Purse)

    Cruise with a Cause

Our mission is to Unify Christians and Ministries from all over the world to build the Kingdom of God

Our purpose for the Brasil trips is to continue encouraging the local church and participate in multiple evangelism, VBS and construction opportunities.

The area of Christable Colon is desolate and poverty stricken. We work with a pastor in the village as he reaches the area for Christ. We take annual trips to the village and do a VBS ministry for the children and construction to homes and the church. This past summer we started a soccer outreach aspect to the trip and saw a great reward in it. This is a low cost trip that is international but remains a great trip to start mission on. We stay in Texas at a retreat center and drive into Mexico each day. This is a trip for virtually anyone!

    Coffee Bar

At our coffee bar on Sunday mornings we serve GoBena Coffee where 100% of their profits go to enriching the lives of vulnerable and/or orphaned children.
